Safety & Handling
Always review the current product label, directions for use, and safety information before using Syncaine®.
Syncaine® must be used in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements and approved directions for use. Do not overexpose fish to lethal concentrations. Anesthetized fish should be returned to fresh water before excessive exposure occurs. Additional exposure following medullary collapse may result in mortality.
Use in food fish, permitted species, water temperatures, and withdrawal periods are subject to jurisdiction-specific requirements. Refer to the current approved label and directions for use applicable to your location before treatment.
Store at room temperature in a well-ventilated, secure area with the container tightly closed. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment when handling the product. In the event of exposure, flush the affected area with clean water and seek appropriate medical advice.
When preparing an anesthetic bath, use appropriate water and avoid distilled or deionized water or water containing chlorine, heavy metals, or other toxic contaminants.
Always validate the planned concentration and handling procedure before large-scale use. Refer to the current Syncaine® Directions for Use for approved application information and handling recommendations.
Dispose of product and prepared solutions in accordance with applicable local, state/provincial, and federal regulations.
Withdrawal Periods
Withdrawal periods and other requirements vary by jurisdiction, species, intended use, and water temperature. Always consult the current approved label and directions for use applicable to your country or region before treating fish intended for human consumption.
